Will you give up your guns?

I see constant talk on the various webpages and social media about not giving up our guns if the government comes for them. Will the government confiscate our guns? I think it is a real possibility, after all, they have been doing it in steps for longer than I have been alive and most Americans gave up what was asked for.

Back in the early 1900s, it was perfectly legal to own any weapon. Automatic weapons were brought back from overseas by returning soldiers and kept as war trophies. You could buy a full auto Thompson machine gun, among other weapons, by mail.

Then the US government, under some type of “War on”, declared these weapons illegal to own, without the BATF tax stamp, overnight. US citizens gave them up, made them non-functioning or registered them as required by the new law. With the stroke of a pen, you were made a criminal if you did not follow the new laws.

After JFK was killed, new laws were passed that banned the purchase of guns by mail except by a licensed dealer. More laws over the years have not only stripped gun owners of more and more of their rights but have taken rights away from all American citizens, gun owners or not.

The various “Wars on” have eviscerated the Constitution with most Americans full support on some level.

One of the most egregious of these has been the War on Drugs which has cost us billions of dollars, destroyed families and made criminals out of people doing nothing more than exercising their freedom to do with their bodies as they wish. In a large part due to the War on Drugs, the US has the highest per capita percentage of its population in jail than any other country in the world.

The number of laws on the books that make consensual acts illegal, are enormous. From whom you can or cannot marry to what various papers you must have in order to drive a vehicle, the government on all levels controls our lives. It is estimated that all American adults violate at least one law daily without knowing. Carrying your prescription medications in something other than the original container? Illegal. Don’t have all the state required stickers on your car? Illegal. Bypass any safety device on your car? Illegal. And the list goes on and on.

There are laws that tell you when and where you can drink. What you can and cannot eat or drink, raw milk as an example. What drugs you can and cannot take. And on, and on.

So how does this apply to gun confiscation?

Like all of these “Wars on” and laws that have been rammed down our throats, most Americans will shrug their shoulders and go along with it. Historically there is no doubt that most Americans will do the same thing as they have done for decades, comply with the laws.

And those that don’t at first, will either be put in prison, killed or end up giving up their guns. The holdouts will likely capitulate when the SWAT team comes to their door rather than risk their families’ safety by failing to do so. Would the police wipe out a family over a gun? Ask anyone that survived the Branch Dravidians debacle in Waco or ask Randy Weaver. Read the history of the Kent State massacre or Wounded Knee.

Yes, the government has, can and will wipe out a family to achieve its’ end. The complete subjugation of its citizens.

This has been coming for years and both parties are equally responsible for allowing it to happen.

Obama catches flack for what he does from Republicans who cheered when Bush did things just as bad, and vice versa.

But ultimately, who is to blame here?

Anyone that fought in, or supported the War on Drugs, is to blame.

Anyone that fought in, or supported the War on Terrors, is to blame.

Anyone that fought in, or supported the War on anything waged by the government, is to blame.

Anyone that has supported any law or regulation that infringed on the rights of another is to blame.

Anyone that supported taking the money from one pocket to get to another through taxation, is to blame.

Anyone that supported or fought in our illegal invasions and wars around the world, is to blame.

Americans, lured into a soft and obedient life with bread and circuses, will submit and obey for the most part. As long as they have their mega-huge HDTV, a refrigerator full of overly processed foods, and a new car in the driveway, they will submit rather than risk all of those things. A few holdouts may be killed or jailed but by and large most Americans will grab another beer, pop another prescription drug, watch football or the latest reality TV show and forget their rights that have been recently lost.

And sadly, they will continue to wave their flag and go on about how America is the home of the free and the brave.

The Republic that was founded over 200 years ago is dead, RIP.

Welcome to Amerika.

  1. Modesto says:

Hey, Im in Ontario and its the same rules. To buy an air rifle with less than 500 fps (Feet per second) you just need to be 18. These will be the ones you buy at wamrlat and they cant really be used for hunting much unless you get a 495 fps gun and make a headshot. Then there are air rifles that shoot over 500 fps that you need a PAL (Positions and Aquisitions license) and you need to take a course to do that, which isnt hard and then you can buy a gun that he can use for hunting. There isnt really an age that he has to be to use your gun so go ahead. There is a daisy grizzly that is like 350 fps and it is nice and cheap.
